This is probably the best known 'pay as you surf' model, where you get paid for having continuous ads in a small adbar on your screen whilst browsing the net. The inconvenience this involves is relatively small and adequately offset by the money you earn. This increases rapidly as you refer friends and colleagues to the service, and you even earn for their referrals (known as extended referrals). Paybar is both quick and easy to set up. The paybar itself is relatively small and can be positioned anywhere on your screen. You earn money all the time you are conected to the Internet and using your PC - not just when you are browsing! This means you will continue to earn when using your email or other applications. The actual payrate varies each month and is determined by actual advertising revenues - for February it was about 25.2 cents per hour, representing a 19% increase over January. All you need to do is install a small Adticker on your computer desktop. The Adticker works totally independently of any other programme on your computer and does not interfere with the way you work or use your computer. You will choose whether to view each individual ad (which can earn you up to $1, based on the time taken to view). On this basis earnings will range from $20 to $100 per hour! This is a welcome variation on the standard PAYS service. Instead of the traditional advertisement bar, DotAd uses a device they call 'Harry' Harry is a small icon positioned on your desktop that will earn you money while you surf. You choose if and when to take advantage of Harry's features while you enrich your experience on-line and earn your share of the advertising money. DotAd are phasing the rollout of Harry, and have indicated a 6-8 week 'waiting list' for distribution of the software. Of course, they allow you to join and refer your friends in the meantime. The payment rates are reasonable, and it looks like this could be a low hassle scheme - so it may be worth getting on that waiting list. Getpaid4.com claims to be the highest paying multi-program of its kind on the Internet! As well as the usual PAYS service, you can also earn money for sending and reading email and for receiving text messages to your mobile (see adBroadcast under our free money listing). New schemes are being added on a regualr basis. The service is professional and the adbar is quick and easy to download. Amazingly, the company will pay you 3 cents simply for each email you receive in relation to your specified interests, (plus a further 1 cent for similar messages received from up to 4 levels of referrals). Additional income can be earned through use of allcommunity as your ISP and for any purchases you make through the site. ValuePay works like most pay as you surf schemes but has the benefit of placing the ads in 'dead' space in the top right hand corner of your existing browser - using the quaintly named 'Piggy' minibrowser. The service has not gone live yet (expected imminently), but promises a high degree of customisation to ensure ads are tailored to your individual personal interests and preferences. Advertiser revenues are shared with users on a 50:50 basis, with a current limit of $50 per month. Additional income (with no limit) is earned for introducing others to the service. Earnings are paid on request by cheque. ValuePay have recently advised us that the 'Piggy' will be released during May, although we have also heard reports of problems in initial testing.
